Well because I am MY travel agent and it is a LOT of work. Talk about difficult clients, my family is NOT easy to please, and by that, I mean my husband. :)
This past week we, and by WE I mean I, made all our dining reservations AND booked the cake decorating event I talked about in my last post. I was up and at it at 6AM. If I had a travel agent, I could have slept in and let her handle it all.
I am handling TWO vacations for my family. We have that Disney Cruise 2 months after our Walt Disney World trip. So after booking our dining and at 7AM booking Fastpasses for a few other clients, I hopped on Facebook.
There are Facebook groups set up for specific cruise sailings. I just happened to see a new post was added, so I checked it out. There was a post from a fellow cruiser stating she was cancelling her cruise to travel on another AND she was giving up her 5E stateroom.
If you don't know, 5E staterooms are EXTENDED Verandah staterooms located AFT on the ships. They sell out FIRST on most itineraries. The are coveted for the large verandahs and for the low foot traffic in that area of the ship.
I found out which stateroom she had and immediately got on the phone with Disney Cruise Line. Again, this is something my travel agent could have done. I would have had to notify her of the cancellation, but she could have contacted DCL for me.
Anyways, it was a bit of a process to get the room as it hadn't been released yet, but with patience and excellent customer service at DCL, she was able to move us from our current stateroom to the aft stateroom. She was as excited as I was. So now, instead of calling my clients with the great news that I was able to get the room they (I) had wanted all along, AND it actually cost LESS than the booked category 5A, I called my husband and told him. He reminded me that it wasn't until June and that is a LONG way away. Party Pooper.
So I guess I do have a travel agent and she is THE BEST!! LOL
