Carry-Ons
- 1 bathing suit per person
- 2 shirts per person
- 1 pair of shorts per person
- Daughter's Pirate Night outfit. (Just in case our checked bags disappear, I decided this would be the most missed clothing item for her)
- 1 qt. bag of essential oils, sm. sunscreen, and toiletries
- Rx
- 3 pair under garments
- 1 pair of socks per person
- Assortment of candy
- Cameras and chords, batteries, lenses, etc.
- Extra quart and gallon zippy bags
- 2 kitchen size garbage bags
Checked Bags
- Lots of clothes: I know I brought more than I'll need, but I always do.
- Several large lotion and spray sunscreens
- 2-3 pairs of shoes per person
- Remaining toiletries not in carry-on
- Downy Wrinkle Release Spray (Tried it out before packing and it is fabulous. May never iron again)
- Lots of extra meds (Last thing I want it to be sick on the ship, but if it happens, I've got lots o' drugs)
- Sweater for me and daughter (Rumor has it, dining is cold and so are the theaters--which is why I also brought a couple pairs of comfy sweatpants and SOCKS. Also for mornings out on the verandah!! Aaaaaahh! Can't wait!)
Other Odds and Ends:
- Quarters and shiny pennies for pressed penny machine at entry at Port Canaveral. Can't get to it after cruise. Must get them upon arrival before boarding.
- Clothes pins to hang wet stuff
- Personalized door magnets (see previous post)
- Extra magnets
- Old Disney gift card to use as the light switch instead of using my Key to the World Card (KTTWC), that I will inevitably forget in the room because I am using it to keep the lights on. (On Disney Fantasy, you slip your room key card in a slot to use the lights in the room. The purpose is to save energy, but I imagine I will find it annoying, LOL) FYI-- KTTWC is also used to pay for things, check kids in and out of clubs, room key, and to check you off and back onto the ship.
- Glow sticks of various types, because why not.
- Stuffed animal parrot from Target for Pirate Night for daughter.
Things I Debated Buying:
- Underwater camera-- Yes, I did decide to buy it, BUT I went cheap. I bought THIS one. It had good reviews. I don't expect perfection, but I should be able to get some fairly decent shots. Plus, because it isn't that crazy expensive, I'll feel ok letting my daughter take it, with THIS attached to it and her wrist, into the water on Castaway Kay and even during our snorkeling trip on St. Thomas.
- SeaLice lotion-- No, I'm rolling the dice and praying we avoid these critters. I have benadryl and Lavender essential oil in case we do have a run in.
- Motion sickness meds-- Yes yes and triple yes. My daughter's doctor is fantastic and wrote an Rx for the patch AND for Zofran. I also bought kids Dramamine and I bought an all natural Dramamine that has ginger in it that is supposedly effective and non-drousy.
- Lanyards-- Kind of. We had the neck strap from husband's work and daughter had a card holder that attaches to it, that she got at school. I'm bringing a sling purse that I will carry around because my phone and cards will fit in there nice. I'm not wearing my phone around my neck, so I'd have to have my purse anyways, so I may as well keep my card in there too. FYI-- After first cruise, each family member is gifted a lanyard on each cruise thereafter.
- Personalize shirts-- YES, see previous post about that.
That is all I can think of right now. In writing this, I reminded myself that my sling purse is hanging in our mudroom as we speak, so I better go get that thing packed up before I have huge regrets.
Next time you hear from me, I will be forcing my cruise photos and stories upon you. Until then . . .
